We're looking for a dedicated midday supervisor to join our team and help create a safe, positive lunchtime experience for our pupils.
At Lift Hamford, we know that lunchtimes are about much more than just eating. They're a chance for children to relax, play, connect with friends, and feel safe and cared for. You'll supervise pupils in dining areas, playgrounds and across the school site, making sure everyone can enjoy their break in a welcoming and secure environment.
This role is all about being present, alert and supportive. You'll keep a close eye on safety, encourage kind and respectful behaviour, and step in calmly when pupils need guidance or reassurance.
Key responsibilities
You will:
- supervise pupils during lunchtime in dining areas, playgrounds and other shared spaces;
- uphold our behaviour policy, managing any conflicts or disruptions fairly and consistently;
- support the wellbeing of every child, staying alert to any signs of distress or bullying;
- keep spaces clean and safe, clearing tables and addressing spillages or hazards quickly;
- help organise and supervise lunchtime activities or clubs as needed; and
- share any concerns or incidents with teaching and pastoral staff promptly.
What we're looking for
You don't need previous school experience to succeed in this role, but you do need to be calm, confident and caring. We're looking for someone who:
- has experience supervising children or young people, whether as a parent, carer or in another setting;
- can stay calm and composed when things get busy or challenging;
- communicates clearly and warmly with pupils of all ages;
- works well as part of a team and builds trusted relationships with colleagues;
- is patient, empathetic and genuinely enjoys supporting young people; and
- shows strong organisational skills and can manage multiple tasks at once.
If you have experience working in a school environment, basic first aid training, or have run organised group activities, that's a bonus. Could you be the person who helps our pupils feel safe, happy and valued every lunchtime?
