We're looking for a caring, committed and reliable Midday Supervisor to join our welcoming team at Lift Unity City. If you're someone who enjoys working with young people, thrives in a busy environment and understands the importance of a safe and enjoyable lunchtime, we'd love to hear from you.
About the role
This is a 10 hours per week, term time only position (39 weeks per year), working Monday to Friday across the lunch period (1pm to 3pm). You'll be part of a small, friendly team making sure every pupil enjoys a positive and safe break.
Key responsibilities
- Help students enter and exit the dining area safely and manage any spillages or cleaning tasks
- Supervise pupils in the dining hall, outdoor and other areas, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times
- Support positive behaviour and respectful interactions between students
- Respond to incidents calmly and report concerns to the right members of staff
- Recognise signs of distress or bullying and take action to support those who need it
- Clear and clean the dining space once lunch is finished
We are looking for somebody who
- Is approachable, calm under pressure and confident in working with children aged 11 to 16.
- Has experience of being around children or teenagers either in a personal or work environment.
- Is able to commit to the required working hours per day
- Has a hands-on, energetic approach: Comfortable being on your feet throughout the shift, setting up and clearing away dining tables and chairs, and keeping the hall sparkling clean and safe for our pupils.
