Are you someone who enjoys working with young people and making a real difference to their learning in Science? Lift Greensward is looking for a Science Technician to join our team and help bring practical lessons to life.

About the role
This is a great opportunity to support our Science teaching staff and students during practical lessons. You will help prepare materials, look after equipment and make sure our laboratories are safe, organised and ready for learning.
Your work will play an important part in supporting high-quality Science teaching, improving student attainment and creating a positive learning experience for every student.
Key responsibilities
- Help teachers prepare practical lessons and set up equipment safely
- Guide students on how to use materials and equipment safely
- Keep track of resources and order supplies when needed
- Carry out basic repairs and maintenance on equipment
- Support health and safety standards and contribute to risk assessments
- Maintain safe, organised and well-resourced laboratory spaces
- Help with projects, events and displays that celebrate student achievements
We are looking for someone who
You will have GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or equivalent, alongside A level or BTEC qualifications in a Science subject. You will have experience using and maintaining equipment and be comfortable working with IT and specialist tools.
You will also:
- Have a calm, resilient and caring approach and enjoy supporting young people
- Have experience working with children or young people and understand the importance of safeguarding
- Be able to confidently build positive relationships with students, families and external agencies where required
- Be able to de-escalate situations and respond to students in a supportive and professional manner
- Be organised, proactive and able to manage confidential information appropriately
- Work well as part of a team while also being comfortable using your own initiative
- Be patient, flexible and committed to keeping students and colleagues safe
