About our school

Lift Beacon High is a school where young people can realise their dreams and ambitions. It is a school where we believe in whole education; success in exams is crucial but so too is developing the whole child. We know that our students come to us from primary school with a vision of where they want to be and what they want to become.

At Lift Beacon High, high expectations and strong relationships go together. There is a real warmth within our school. We are creating calm, purposeful classrooms; a culture where attendance matters; expert teaching; reading and literacy at the heart of learning; and a rich programme of opportunities beyond the classroom. One of our great strengths is our size. As a small secondary school, we can know each child well and build genuine partnerships with students, staff and families.

Our commitment to equal opportunities

We are committed to building a diverse teaching workforce reflecting the communities we serve. We provide robust support systems to ensure every trainee teacher reaches their full potential regardless of background.
