We're looking for a talented teacher to join our team and help create exceptional learning experiences for every student in every classroom.
This is your chance to design engaging lessons, support young people to achieve their very best, and work alongside a team committed to making education transform lives.
About the role
As a Teacher of Science, you'll play a vital role in delivering engaging and challenging science lessons that inspire students to question, investigate and understand the world around them.
You'll teach science across a range of abilities, developing students' knowledge and understanding of biology, chemistry and physics. Through practical experiments, scientific enquiry and effective teaching strategies, you'll help students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
Working closely with colleagues in the science department, you'll contribute to curriculum development, share best practice and support students to achieve their full potential.
This role is about making sure every child receives an excellent education, in every classroom, every day.
Key responsibilities
You will:
- plan and teach engaging lessons with clear learning objectives, adapting your approach to meet the needs of all students, including those with SEND, high ability learners and EAL students;
- use teaching strategies that stimulate intellectual curiosity, build conceptual understanding and respond to gaps in students' work;
- give regular verbal and written feedback to guide students, helping them reflect on their progress and address misconceptions;
- create a positive classroom culture with clear routines, high expectations for behaviour, and consistent use of praise and rewards;
- work with colleagues and support staff to create effective interventions and share best practice; and
- communicate effectively with parents about their child's achievements, wellbeing and behaviour.
What we're looking for
You will have:
- a degree in a relevant discipline and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS);
- a strong understanding of what excellent teaching and learning looks like in the classroom;
- the ability to assess progress effectively and use formative and summative assessment to help students achieve;
- empathy, patience and resilience when working with young people and managing challenging situations;
- excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with students, colleagues and parents; and
- a commitment to your own professional development and a willingness to respond to coaching and feedback.
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, curious and ready to share their passion for science with young people. Whether you're an experienced teacher or at the start of your teaching career, we want someone who can inspire students to explore new ideas, challenge their thinking and discover what's possible through science.
